As a BUSINESSWOMAN, Rose co-founded a consultation business with her husband, was a regional manager for Jewelry store chain and a small business owner of a Jewelry Store in Kansas. This business background makes Rose an ideal candidate to oversee one of the Board Goals to Maximize resources to improve the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of school district and the County Office. 

As a TEACHER - NURSE - PARENT, Rose teaches Art at senior centers and for kids.  Rose also worked as pediatric nurse.  Her children were schooled locally and her son is an employed college graduate and daughter is serving in the Army. This experience gives Rose the necessary skills to another Board Goal; Increase parent, business, and community participation in schools and build public confidence and trust in public education.

As a COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER, Rose was honored as Senator Hollingsworth’s Woman of the Year ….Kiwanian of the Year ….Alpine Community Center Board Member, past President and Wish grantor to terminally ill children for Make-A-Wish Foundation, Partial list.

As a graduate of the East County Chamber of Commerce Leadership program Rose has the proven skills to help lead the County Board of Education towards its Core Values goals of Public Education, Service, Leadership, Accountability, Collaboration and Community.

Rose supports High academic standards, safe schools for all students, including gifted and special needs children.  Rose is a strong supporter of parental rights and believes that all students are entitled to a world-class education that leads to academic excellence and access to good jobs.
